Polly - the Clever Parrot
Deep inside a bright green jungle, there lived a cheerful little parrot named Polly. Polly had shiny green feathers, a red beak, and a voice that could sound like anyone in the jungle!
Every morning, Polly would fly to the big mango tree where all his friends—Rabbit, Squirrel, and Deer—gathered to play.
Polly loved to make them laugh by copying everyone’s voices.
“Roar! I’m the mighty lion!” Polly would say, puffing his chest.
Then, “Whoof whoof! I’m a happy dog!”
All the animals rolled on the grass giggling.
Polly’s mimicry made the jungle a fun and happy place.
But one afternoon, while Polly was pretending to be a dog—“Whoof! Whoof! Whoof!”—a real dog from the nearby village heard the sound and came running into the jungle!
The dog barked loudly, “Who’s making fun of me?”
All the little animals froze. The dog’s bark was so loud that even the leaves trembled!
The Rabbit whispered, “Oh no! Polly, now what do we do?”
The Squirrel hid behind a rock, and the Deer ran behind a bush.
But Polly didn’t panic. He quickly flew up into a tree and hid among the thick green leaves. He took a deep breath and said to himself,
“It’s time to use my clever voice!”
Then, from behind the leaves, Polly made a deep, powerful sound—
“ROOOAAARRR!”
It was so loud and real that it echoed through the jungle! The dog’s eyes went wide with fear.
“A lion! A lion is here!” he yelped, and ran away as fast as his paws could carry him.
When the dog was gone, Polly came out laughing.
All the animals cheered, “Hooray for Polly! The smartest parrot in the jungle!”
Polly smiled proudly and said,
“Sometimes, the best way to stay safe is to think smart!”
From that day on, everyone in the jungle not only loved Polly for his funny voices—but also respected him for his clever mind.
Moral: Being smart and calm can help you solve any problem!
