Yami Gautam moved to Mumbai at her 20s and her first acting project was 'fair & lovely' advertisement. She also appeared in tv serials like 'Rajkumaar Aryan' and 'yeh pyar na hoga kam'. She started acting in movies with a kanada film.
She did her Bollywood film debut with film 'Viky Donor' in 2012 opposite to Ayushyman khurana. After that she acted in many popular bollywood films like 'Total siyapaa', 'Badalapur', 'Sanam re', 'Joonuniyat', ' Kabil', 'Sarakar 3', 'Uri - the surgical strike', 'Bala', 'Ginny weds sunny', 'A Thursday', 'Dasvi' and her upcoming movies are 'Lost', 'OMG 2' and 'Chor nikal ke bhaga'.
She is a trained pole dancer. She married to director Aditya Dhar on 4 june 2021.
